My earliest memories come from dancing in front of the TV set to Barbie's Swan Lake. Jagged turns, flailing arms, and half-energetic jumps inspired my parents to sign me up for ballet classes at the age of 3, and I have demanded the stage ever since. Having grown up in a small town outside of Seattle, Pacific Northwest Ballet (PNB) was the biggest it could get for me in regards to professional performance. It was not until I discovered mainstream musical theater that I realized the bigger world that existed out there. I joined musical theater classes, but I began to find that I rarely saw my Asian American identity reflected in the stories I was assigned to tell. I decided that I would make it my mission to pave paths and create opportunities for other marginalized voices in the theater industry.

I have realized the power of performance through my work at Stanford University where I have become a leader and innovator in the theater community. I am truly passionate about representation, specifically racial representation, on and offstage to create authentic storytelling that resonates with underrepresented communities. I believe that effective teamwork emerges from placing autonomy and decisions in the hands of others so that they may infuse their own voices, knowledge, and experience into the project as well. I feel immense joy from interacting with other brilliant and intelligent people because I can never stop learning. I thrive in the presence of excitement and endless visions. I believe my role is to make ideas a reality and to bring inspirational sparks to fruition by meeting and working with other unstoppable artists. Because of this, I have experimented with digital production technology, rebranded century old theatrical traditions, and networked with playwrights, directors, designers, and actors.

I recently served as an assistant director for Michael Rau for the 2021 Humana Festival of New American Plays in addition to assistant directing various other productions through the Stanford Department of Theater and Performance Studies. Recent producing experience includes producing Stanford's annual Gaieties celebration and the Asian American Theater Project's 2021 New Works Festival. I currently serve as the Artistic Director of the Asian American Theater Project.
